Allison Quach received her Bachelor’s degree from U.C. San Diego and is currently a scientific researcher at Ardelyx Inc. As a former recipient of an academic scholarship from the San Diego AWIS chapter, she has since dedicated her time and efforts towards ensuring that educational and financial resources are available to future generations of women pursuing careers in STEM. She currently serves as a board member of the East Bay chapter of the Association of Women in Science. Allison began her career designing projects in the development and commercialization of drugs, first at a large academic research institution, then with a global pharmaceutical company, and now at a smaller biotech company. She learned how scale can affect the direction of certain projects and drugs in development, but also came to appreciate the difficulty in driving change and creating impact in large organizations. She looks forward to continuing her exploration into how pharmaceutical companies leverage technology and innovation towards delivering better drugs to treat patients with unmet medical needs.
