Deepti Tanjore

Dr. Deepti Tanjore is a Research Scientist at the Advanced Biofuels Process Development Unit (AB-PDU), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, CA. Deepti’s research is focused on reducing technical risks in commercializing synthetic biology innovations from academia, start-ups, industry, etc. Deepti’s team resolved scale-up issues for more than 16 start-ups in food, health, energy, and other areas and generated grams to kilograms of pure molecule(s) for product testing. This effort expedited positioning these innovations in an investment-conducive zone on the risk-reward spectrum. To engender novel and unique risk-mitigating solutions, Deepti’s team works in a highly interdisciplinary space: at the intersection of synthetic biology, chemical engineering, biochemistry, adaptive control systems, statistical learning, and techno-economic modeling. Deepti is currently working on developing an open-source data sharing system to support novel bioprocess development efforts.
