The SynBioBeta Sonoma Wine Country Unconference

Deepen your SynBioBeta San Francisco experience and knowledge of Napa and Sonoma wines at our “Unconference” in one of California’s finest winegrowing regions. We will meet at UCSF Mission Bay on the morning of Thursday, October 5, and travel by bus to Viansa Sonoma Winery where we will enjoy a catered lunch, followed by wine tasting tours interspersed with three 45-minute work sessions. If you have never been to an unconference before then the format is simple, we start with an empty schedule and you, the participants decide the sessions and talks on the fly. We will break out into a number of groups based on common interest in the topics proposed. It is a great way to broaden your knowledge, delve into new areas and create new partnerships with other SynBioBeta attendees.

Known for its award-winning wines, iconic 270-degree hilltop views of the Sonoma Valley leading into Napa, and a long history of land stewardship, Viansa Sonoma Winery is the perfect place to complete your SynBioBeta experience. The unconference cost is $150 before September 15 and $200 after. Space is limited.

Unconference Itinerary:

09:30 am – Meet at William J. Rutter Center, 1675 Owens St, for coffee and pastries.

10:00 am – Depart William J. Rutter Center for Viansa Sonoma Winery

12:00 pm – Lunch at Viansa

1:00-4:00 pm – SynBioBeta Unconference Sessions

4:00 pm – Depart Viansa for William J. Rutter Center

6:00 pm – Arrive at William J. Rutter Center
