Dr. Elif Demir-Hilton is an ocean sciences consultant and a member of F3 Team, (Future of Fish Feed), a collaborative effort between NGOs, researchers, and private partnerships to accelerate the commercialization of innovative, alternative aquaculture feed ingredients to replace wild-caught fish.  She earned her degree in aquatic sciences from Aegean University and her doctorate in biological oceanography from University of Delaware where she focused on ecology and molecular detection of phytoplankton with a special focus on harmful algal blooms.  She conducted her postdoctoral work in MBARI focusing on molecular and in situ detection of marine microbes. Elif has a particular interest in bridging innovation and responsible use of natural resources towards ocean health.
